Public and Private Sector Pay Rises More Than 2%

Despite the pay situation in the NHS, pay continues to rise elsewhere. Pay in the private sector rose 2.2% over the course of the year to October and 2.3% across the public sector. The cost of living as measured by the retail prices index for the year to December increased by 4.7%.
